Nooooooooo!

It's bad enough that, every time I pop in an action movie, and some pinball machines show up in the background, they inevitably get smashed. I'm all, "No, Jackie Chan, don't throw that guy into the pinballs!" but he does anyway.

It's bad enough that I have to watch David Letterman drop a vintage Spider-Man machine off a roof on the Late Show, to see what happens when it gets smashed.

But now, the final straw: I have to look at photos of a flood-ravaged PAPA headquarters.

Heartbreaking. Turns out those things don't float all that well. And they really, really don't respond well to water.

We're having the FSPA party today, so I'll definitely be pouring some malted beverage out on the curb for PAPA.

I keep thinking we need to compile a list of movies (like Robot Dance and Smashmouth) where pinball machines get smashed, cuz there's a lot of them. Let's get on that. I'll start with 'Rocky III,' in which Burt Young angrily throws something at a Rocky pinball machine.

just kills me, Kevin Martin rushes like a maniac to get the facility ready in time for PAPA 7, just to have the facility destroyed less than a week later. Just makes me wanna cry.

One of the saddest moments in pinball.
Kevin and the PAPA team treated the players like royalty - beautiful newly decorated huge facility dedicated to pinball, by far the best tournament in the world, free lockers and shuttle bus, food vendor and cafeteria area, internet kiosks...
